Our
Mission
Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for seniors, individuals with disabilities, veterans, and families of deployed service members by providing free lawn care services, while creating paid workforce opportunities and mentorship for local high school youth.
Who We Serve
We provide free lawn care services to our senior residents, individuals with disabilities, families of deployed service members, and veterans who are physically or financially unable to maintain their yards. At the same time, we’re creating meaningful summer jobs for local high school youth—teaching responsibility, community pride, and the value of giving back.
ELIGIBILITY & SERVICE AREA
The Lawn Legacy Project currently provides FREE lawn care services to eligible residents within our active service area of Leland and Greenville, Mississippi.
To be considered for services, applicants must:
• Reside within our current service area.
• Be a senior, veteran, individual with a disability, or family of a deployed service member.
• Be physically or financially unable to maintain their property.
• Meet program eligibility requirements and available service capacity.
How We Prioritize Services
Lawn Legacy Project is committed to serving those with the greatest need first. Because volunteer availability and funding are limited, eligible applicants are prioritized using a standardized review process that considers factors such as:
- Physical disability or mobility limitations
- Serious medical conditions
- Age
- Veteran status
- Family of a deployed service member
- Availability of family or caregiver support
- Ability to safely maintain the property
- Current program capacity
Every application is reviewed using the same process to ensure services are provided fairly and consistently.
Please note that submitting an application does not guarantee service. Due to limited volunteers, equipment, and funding, applicants may be placed on a waiting list.
Eligibility is based on the qualifying participant residing at the property. Services may be discontinued if the participant moves, passes away, no longer meets eligibility requirements, or if the property becomes vacant.
If you live outside our current service area, we encourage you to complete an interest form. We will keep your information on file and contact you if services become available in your community.
Take Action
Your support helps us provide free yard care to qualifying seniors, disabled individuals, veterans, familes of deployed service members, and create paid jobs for local teens.
Whether it’s $10 or $1,000, your gift goes straight to the front lines of change and transforming lives in the Mississippi Delta.
